Daylight Solutions Acquired For $150M

San Diego-based Daylight Solutions, a developer of lasers used in scientific research, life sciences, industrial process control, and defense, has been acquired for $150M by Leonardo S.p.A., the companies announced this morning. According to the two, Leonardo S.p.A. is acquiring Daylight through its U.S. subsidiary, Leonardo DRS, and will become one of eight lines of business run by Leonardo DRS. The two said that Daylight Solutions will remain in San Diego under current management. Daylight Solutions' three founders, Chairman and CEO Dr. Timothy Day, Paul Larson, and Sam Crivello, will remain with the company after its acquisition.
