Netlist Names Research VP
Irvine-based Netlist said earlier this week that it has appointed a new Vice President of Research and Development. The firm, which designs and manufacturer memory subsystems for the high performance computing and communications market, said it named Ron Nikel to the position. Nikel joins from Global UniChip, and also served at MetaRAM, Digital Edquipment Corp., Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, and Synopsys. Nikel will head up the firm's engineering team. Netlist, a maker of high speed memory subsystems, is in the midst of a patent dispute with Westlake Village-based Inphi Corp., over patents covering DDR3 and other memory interfaces for semiconductors.
