Perfect Market Unveils New Content Monetization Tool
Altadena-based Perfect Market, the Idealab startup which develops software which helps traditional publishers monetize their archival and current content, said today that it has unveiled a new tool it is calling The Vault. According to the firm, which is run by Julie Schoenfeld, the new tool helps newsrooms and editors to determine the biggest demand for articles, and help publishers monetize their content based on that demand. Pricing on the new tool was not released. Perfect Market's software applies search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to help surface content--usually more evergreen topics popular with consumers--which normally would be buried deep in a publishers' archive library. Perfect Market claims early users of the new tool are seeing a 20X increase in their advertising revenue by using the package. With The Vault, the firm suggested that publishers can also "curate trending news" and "report new stories" based on reader interests.
