Product Engineer I

Brief Description
· Responsible for sustaining engineering support related to a product line.
· Manage product line configuration in Agile PLM system.
· Understand product design and features, be familiar with the manufacturing process.
· Understand customer performance and configuration requirements for product.
· Act as the technical point of contact for ongoing support and change initiation, including managing manufacturing and customer issues escalated to engineering.
· Help coordinate development of product improvements and variants and support the transition into production for new products and product variants.
· Coordinate the release and update of engineering design documentation, bill of materials, manufacturing and test procedures and production tooling and test equipment, in cooperation with design and manufacturing engineers.
· Provide customer support for failure analysis, field bulletin technical content, general product information.
· Work with suppliers, purchasing and planning to ensure resolution of technical issues that impact production.
· Travel to support working with suppliers, resolving product issues, participating in system tests, and supporting customers.
· Requires Bachelor’s in relevant Engineering discipline (Aero, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems) or related work experience + education, adv. degree a plus.
· 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role with 2-5 years’ experience in engineering design environment, including support of products in production.
· Understand General Engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties, electronics, systems, software.
· Excellent verbal and written skills - Leadership experience - Team Player.
· Understand requirements for building of production assemblies, including documentation for use on production floor.
· Demonstrated ability to integrate across technical disciplines and organizations, including program management, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, suppliers and customers.
· Familiar with office software and computer based productivity tools.
· Must be willing work on government contracts, including weapon systems.
