Twentieth Century Fox In Angry Birds Plush Toys Deal
Fans of the popular smartphone game Angry Birds, developed by videogame maker Rovio, can indulge their passion for the game through a new line of plush, stuffed toys, according to Century City-based Twentieth Century Fox this week. Twentieth century Fox said that Angry Birds-style plush characters based on Twentieth Century's RIO movie will be available via Toys"R"Us stores this month. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Twentieth Century Fox and Rovio inked a partnership in March to create a new franchise for the game, which is popular on the iPhone, Android, and other smartphone platforms. Angry Birds Rio incorporates characters from the RIO movie directly into the Angry Birds game. The two said that the Angry Birds Rio app has been downloaded over 60 million times.
