Allocade Raises $5M

Menlo Park-based Allocade, which develops healthcare software, said Wednesday that the firm has raised $5M in a venture funding round. The round was led by VantagePoint Venture Partners. Allocde said the funding will use to scale the firm's products. Allocade's software is used to manage hospital patient flow for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room patients; the firm's technology is based on technology developed at NASA, related to scheduling of resources on the Hubble Space telescope.
