Ariba Acquired By SAP In $4.3B Deal

Sunnyvale-based Ariba, the publicly held developer of business and procurement software, has been acquired by SAP AG, in a deal worth approximately $4.3 billion. The two firms said Tuesday afternoon that SAP will pay $45.00 per share for Ariba, a 20 percent premium over Ariba's May 21st closing price. SAP said the move would make it the "leading business network."
