Ask.com Buys Lexico

Oakland-based Ask.com said today that it has acquired Lexico Publishing Group, the owner of Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, and Reference.com, in an all-cash deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ask said the acquisition will grow the firm's user base to more than 145 monthly unique visitors. Ask said that Lexico is profitable, and has been showing high double digit growth for the past two years.
