Bivio Networks Acquires Italian Firm

Pleasanton-based Bivio Networks, a maker of deep packet inspection hardware, disclosed today that it has acquired Italian firm FlowInspect SpA. According to Bivio, Milan-based FlowInspect SpA develops deep packet inspection-enabled applications. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Bivio said that it will announced specific product offerings from the buy later this year. Bivio is venture backed by Silver Creek Ventures, ITOCHU Corporation, ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC), and Cross Technology Partners, InterWest Partners, Storm Ventures, Venrock Associates and Goldman Sachs.
