Box Buys MedXT

Los Altos-based cloud storage provider Box is ramping up its focus on specific, vertical industries today, saying that it has acquired MedXT, a developer of a cloud-based storage service aimed at medical imaging. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. MedXT--which was part of Y Combinator--was founded by Reshma Khilnani and Cody Ebberson, both of whom are joining Box as part of the buy. Box said the buy will help it launch Box for Industries, an effort to develop storage service for major verticals.
