EA Acquires Respawn Entertainment For Up To $455M

Redwood City-based Electronic Arts has acquired game development studio Respawn Entertainment, the creator of Titanfall, in a deal worth up to $455M, the company said Thursday afternoon. According to EA, it will pay $151M in cash, and up to $164M in long term equity to employees, for Respawn, plus up to $140M in performance-based milestone payments for Respawn, which was based in Los Angeles. Respawn develops the Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Star Warstitles. EA said Respawn will become part of its Worldwide Studios organization.
