Exar Names New CFO

Exar Corp., a manufacturer of communications and power ICs, reported Tuesday that it has promoted Kevin S. Bauer to vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. Bauer, the Fremont-based firm explained, succeeds J. Scott Kamsler, who recently stepped down as senior vice president and CFO. Bauer had been vice president of finance and corporate controller, Exar noted, adding that Bauer will report to Pete Rodriquez, the company's president and chief executive officer. Prior to Exar, the company said, Bauer spent four years at WaferTech LLC as operations controller and 10 years with VLSI Technology.
