Finisar Buys Two Firms

Sunnyvale-based Finisar acquired two companies Monday, AZNA LLC based in Wilmington, Mass., and Kodeos Communications, based in South Plainfield, New Jersey. AZNA was acquired for $19.7 million in cash plus promissary notes; Kodeos was acquired for $7.0 million in cash plus possible earnout. AZNA is a developer of photonic components and subsystems with 58 employees and revenues of $6.7M in 2006; Kodeos develops 10Gb/s tunable transponders for the telecommunications industry, and has 19 employees.
