Google Acquires Peakstream

Mountain View-based Google has reportedly acquired Redwood City-based Peakstream, a developer of software for multicore and parallel processors. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Peakstream is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Sequoia Capital and Foundation Capital. Peakstream was formerly known as Shakti Software Systems, and last raised a round of capital worth $17M in September of 2006.
