LSI Completes Merger With Agere

Milpitas-based LSI Logic announced today that it has completed its merger with Agere Systems. The deal, which was announced in December, creates a combined $3.5B provider of semiconductors and storage products, with approximately 9,1000 employees. The newly merged company has been named LSI Corporation. LSI Logic is a provider of semiconductors and storage systems; Agere is a provider of semiconductsr and was formerly a division of AT&T.
