Nethra Imaging Wraps up Ambric Purchase
Fabless semiconductor manufacturer Nethra Imaging announced Monday that its acquisition of Ambric Inc. of Beaverton, Ore., has closed. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ambric produces software-programmable integrated circuits that are used in the media-processing and medical-imaging sectors. Ramesh Singh, Nethra's president and chief executive officer, said he expects Ambric's personnel and operations to be completely integrated with Nethra's later this month. Founded in 2003, Nethra is a privately held company headquartered in Santa Clara, and is venture backed by Artiman Ventures, GunnAllen Financial, iLabs Capital, and Quicksilver Ventures.
