Nokia Buys ATRICA
Nokia said Thursday that it has acquired Santa Clara-based ATRICA, a maker of carrier Ethernet products for the metropolitan area network (MAN) market. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. ATRICA is headquartered in Santa Clara, and also maintains a development center in Tel Aviv, Israel. Nokia said the acquisition is expected to complete in January of 2008. ATRICA is venture backed by 3Com, Accel, Bellsouth, Ascend Technology Ventures, Benchmark Capital, CDIB, The Challenger Fund, Hotung Group, Gemini Israel, JK&B, Lehman Brothers, SBC, Saturn Venture Partners, PartCom, Vesbridge, Investor AB, Triton, Innovacom, Magnum Communications, Bezeq, and Telia.
