OpenTV Buys Ruzz TV

OpenTV Corp., a developer of digital television and digital advertising software, announced Tuesday that it has acquired Ruzz TV Pty Ltd., a privately held company based in Sydney, Australia, that publishes turnkey software solutions for television broadcasters. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1999 by Robert Rutherford, Ruzz TV employs 10 people. OpenTV said Rutherford will stay on board as managing director and chief technology officer. Ben Bennett, OpenTV's chief executive officer, said Ruzz TV's product line complements OpenTV's offerings and gives broadcasters across the globe a comprehensive selection of workflow and content process management solutions.
