Playdom Buys Game Developer Merscom

Mountain View-based social gaming firm Playdom said Monday that it has acquired Merscom, LLC, a developer of online and social games for brands. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Merscom is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and develops applications for Sea World, Purina, National Geographic and NBC Universal.
