RGB Networks Acquires RipCode

Sunnyvale-based RGB Networks, a developer of video trancoding and processing products, said today that it has acquired competitor RipCode. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to RGB Networks, it will integrate RipCode's products and technology into its product line. As part of the buy, RGB Networks said it would hire nearly all of RipCode's employees, and continue to maintain an office in Austin, Texas, where RipCode is based. RGB is venture backed by Accel Partners, Comcast Interactive Capital, Focus Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners, and Kistler Associates. Ripcode was venture backed by Granite Ventures, Hunt Ventures, El Dorado Ventures, Vesbrige Partners, and ATA Ventures.
