Sybase Buys iFoundry Assets

Dublin, California-based software provider Sybase has purchased Singapore-based iFoundry Systems, a engineering services company focused on wireless mobility products. Sybase said Monday afternoon that it has acquired certain assets of iFoundry, in an all-cash transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed. iFoundry provides short range wireless interconnect protocol stacks, software consulting, training, and professional engineering services to mobile device OEMs and chipset manufacturers. Sybase said the assets will enable it to offer a more complete embdded software solution. The firm also purchased additional software intellectual property in the mobile device area.
