Informatica Acquires Itemfield

Redwood City-based Informatica today said that it is acquiring Itemfield, a provider of data integration software, in a deal worth $55M in cash. Informatica said that it will incorporate Itemfield's software for integrating unstructured data into its products. Itemfield's software handles unstructured data such as Microsoft Word and Excel files, Adobe PDF files, and other file formats.
