Greenplum Gets $19M

San Mateo-based Greenplum, which develops an open source database used for business intelligence and data warehousing, said today that it has raised $19M in equity and debt. The investment includes $15M in equity from lead Sierra Ventures, and also included prior investors Mission Ventures, Dawntreader Ventures, and EDF Ventures. The remainder, $4M, came in the form of a line of credit from Comerica Bank. As part of the investment, Tim Guleri of Sierra Ventures joins the company's board, and Bill Cook, formerly of Sun Microsystems, has been named as CEO. More information »
