HP Buys Storage Software Firm

Palo Alto-based HP said Monday evening that it has acquired Beaverton, Oregon-based PolyServe, a maker of software for shared storage access. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. PolyServe makes software used to provide shared access to storage, typically used in conjunction with enterprise storage products. HP said that the acquisition will provide HP with entry into the high-growth enterprise network attached storage (NAS) market. PolyServe will become become part of the StorageWorks division in HP’s Technology Solutions Group.
