Angels Invest $25.6B In 2006
A new study by the Center for Venture Research at the University of New Hampshire reports that angel investors invested $25.6B in 2006, an increase of 10.8 percent over 2005. The study, which was released this week, found that there were 51,000 entrepreneurial ventures receiving angel funding in 2006, and 234,000 individuals that were active angel investors. The study found that angels were most interested in healthcare services, medical devices, and equipment, which received 21 percent of total angel investments, followed by software and biotech, both with 18 percent of deals.
