Xilinx CEO Announces Retirement
San Jose-based FPGA developer Xilinx said today that its CEO, William P. Roelandts, intends to retire as President and CEO. The firm said that it has begun a search for a successor. Roelandts will remain as CEO for the firm until a new CEO is hired, and will cotninue on as Chairman of the Board of the firm. Roelandts has headed Xilinx since 1996. Xilinx develops field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) used for designing and prototyping electronic equipment.
