Sugar Buys Coutorture Media

San Francisco-based blog publishing firm Sugar Inc. said this morning that it has acquired Coutorture Media, a provider of style-focused fashion websites and blogs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition follows the acquisition last month of ShopStyle last month. Sugar said that Coutorture Media will continue to operate independently at its web site, headed by Julie Fredrickson, the site's founder and Editor in Chief. Sugar said that Coutorture Media co-founder Phil Leif will become a Senior Engineer at Sugar Inc. Sugar is venture backed by Sequoia Capital and NBC Universal, among others.
