Venture Valuations Up In Q4, Says Survey

Fenwick & West LLP, a Bay area law firm focused on the high technology and life sciences area, released results of its Fourth Quarter 2007 San Francisco Bay Area Venture Capital Survey today, saying that valuations in venture financings increased during the fourth quarter. According to the survey, up rounds exceeded down rounds for companies for the 16th consecutive quarter. Fenwick & West said that there was a 55% average price increase for companies receiving venture capital for the quarter, a drop in valuation increase, compared with the 75% increase in valuation for companies saw for the prior three quarters.
