VMware Invests $100M In India

Palo Alto-based virtualization software firm VMware, Inc. said Monday that it intends to invest $100M in India, as part of a multi-year initiative to expand its research and development operations. According to VMware, it will invest $100M in India by 2010, and open a new, 82,000 square foot development center in Bangalore. The move will expand its development team to more than 1,000 people in India over the next two years. VMware currently has offices in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai.
