Link_A_Media Decodes $22M

Santa Clara-based Link_A_Media Devices, which is developing data recovery and decoding technology for hard drives and solid state disk drives, announced today that it has raised $22M in a Series B financing round. The round was led by AIG SunAmerica Ventures, and also included KeyNote Ventures, NEC Electronics, Micron Technology, Inc and Seagate Technology. Link_A_Media develops digital signal processing techniques used to improve data recovery on hard disk drives. The firm says its products can be used to improve drive yields and product margins, along with increasing the data recovery ability of HDD read channels. Link_A_Media said the funding will go towards commercialization of its technology, which was developed through a strategic relationship with NEC Electronics. More information »
