Seesmic Raises $6M In Series B Funding

San Francisco-based Seesmic said Friday morning that the firm has raised $6M in a Series B financing. The round came from Omidyar Network, the investing arm of eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, and also included Wellington Partners. Seesmic said the round brings its total raised to $12M. Seesmic is led by Loic Le Meur, former VP at Six Apart. Omidyar will join the firm's board as an observer, with Wellington's Eric Archambeau joining the board. Seesmic's prior investors include a large number of high profile angel investors, including Atomico, blog mogul Michael Arrington of TechCrunch, AOL's Steve Case, SoftTech VC's Jeff Clavier, prolific angel investor Ron Conway, Steve Garfield, Dan Gillmore, Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn, Michael Parekh, Marc Pincus, Ariel Poler, Jeff Pulver, and Martin Varsavsky of FON.
