Cypress Semiconductor Buys NVRAM Firm
San Jose-based Cypress Semiconductor said Friday that it has acquired Simtek, a Colorado-based manufacturer of nonvolatile static random access memory. The deal was worth $2.60 per share in cash for each share of Simtek common stock, worth approximately $46M. Cypress has been looking to acquire Simtek since February. According to Cypress Semiconductor, the deal will close in or prior to the firm's fourth calendar quarter of 2008.
