SemantiNet Raises $3.4M, Opens Shop In San Francisco

Tel Aviv, Israel-based SemantiNet said Thursday that the firm has raised $3.4M in a Series A round, and opened up a San Francisco sales and marketing office. The firm said that it has developed software for discovering new information as part of the "natural browsing" experience. The round came from Giza Venture Capital, along with Sir Ronald Cohen, Yossi Vardi, and Vonage founder Jeff Pulver. SemantiNet said that its R&D remains in Tel Aviv.
