Google's Android Launches With T-Mobile
Mountain View-based Google is launching its first, Android-powered phone today, through T-Mobile. T-Mobile is launching the T-Mobile G1, which uses Android, Google's open source mobile software, as its operating system; the launch also includes a number of other partners announcing services and applications for the phone. Google announced its open source mobile phone software efforts last November, in an attempt to create a new platform for mobile application development. Google said that Android is expected to be fully released to open source by the end of the year.
