Roku Gets New Funding
Saratoga-based Roku, Inc., maker of a hardware device to play Netflix movies on your TV via the Internet, said Tuesday that it has raised a Series C financing round from Menlo Ventures. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. According to Roku, Shawn Carolan of Menlo Ventures joins the board alongside the funding round. Roku sells a digital video player which connects via the Internet to Neflix. Netflix is also an investor in the firm, and was the lead on a Series B funding round in Roku in January.
