SightSpeed Acquired By Logitech

Berkeley-based SightSpeed, a developer of Internet video calling technology, has been acquired by Logitech, a maker of computer mice and other peripherals. According to Logitech, it will pay approximately $30M in cash for SightSpeed. SightSpeed was founded in 2001, and has approximately 25 employees; the firm has previously scored funding from BR Ventures and Roda Group. According to Logitech, the acquisition will provide it with video calling technology and a software and services development team that can be focused on future video caling initiatives. Logitech specifically highlighted its acquisition of SightSpeed's team, which it said would "significantly augment" its current video R&D resources.
