Sezmi Completes Pilot Trials
Belmont-based Sezmi, which is developing a system for distributing video-on-demand through broadcast connections, said this week that it has concluded a technical trial of its service in Seattle. According to the firm, it worked with local braodcast partners Fisher, Tribune, and Daystar to test its personal television system, which uses broadband broadcasts to distribute videos to subscribers. Sezmi's hardware pulls news, enteratinment, television and other video content via spectrum it licenses from TV broadcasters. The firm is venture backed by Morgenthaler Ventures, OmniCapital Group, Index Ventures, TDF, Legend Ventures, and Western Technology Investment.
