YouTube Creates Online Symphony

YouTube, the online video sharing site owned by Google, said last night that it has launched a new effort to create a "YouTube Symphony Orchestra." The site said that it will allow artists to submit their individual performances of a piece, specifically commissioned for YouTube, for a chance to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York. According to YouTube, musicians can submit videos of them performing "The Internet Symphony" by Tan Dun, written for the company, and another classical piece of their choosing. Winners will be given the chance to participate in YouTube's Symphony Orchestra, and will also have a chance to go to New York City in April.
