Atmel Sells German Operations

San Jose-based Atmel said earlier this week that it has completed its sale of its Heilbronn, Germany wafer fabrication operations. Atmel said it sold the operations to Tejas Silicon Holdings (UK) Limited, including the transfer of 260 Atmel employees. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed. Atmel said the sale is part of a move to reduce the number of manufacturing facilities at the firm from five to two.
