Sana Software Acquired By AVG Technologies
Redwood City-based Sana Software, a developer of security software used for identity theft prevention, has been acquired by AVG Technologies. AVG Technologies said that Sana Security's personnel and research organization, Sana Labs, will be integrated into its organization and continue to have offices in Silicon Valley. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. AVG Technologies is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands; the buy will give AVG its first offices in Silicon Valley. Sana was venture backed by Bay Partners, El Dorado Ventures, Sevin Rosen Funds, and The Entrepreneurs Fund.
