Kosmix Taps FIM For VP

Kosmix Corp., operators of a topics-based Web-browsing guide, reported Wednesday that it has hired Peter Foster as senior vice president of monetization. The Mountain View, Calif.-based firm said Foster will oversee its sales staff while also accelerating its advertiser offerings. According to Kosmix, Foster's hiring complements its initiative to boost sales in the wake of a $20 million round of venture financing led by Time Warner Investments. Kosmix said Foster hails from Fox Interactive Media, where he worked as senior vice president of sales for Fox's Photobucket product. He also spent six years at MaxOnline and served as vice president of West Coast sales. Founded in 2005, Kosmix is a privately held company backed by Time Warner, Accel Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Dag Ventures and various private investors.
