Intel's Barrett Looks To Retirement

Santa Clara-based Intel said Friday afternoon that the firm's Chairman, Craig Barrett, intends to retire in May. Barrett, who has been at Intel for 35 years, was CEO of Intel from 1998 through 2005. According to Intel, Barrett will retire from active management and step down as both Chairman and member of the firm's board of directors. Barrett has been at Intel since 1974. Intel said that Jane Shaw, a current member of the firm's board, will replace Barrett; Shaw has been on the board since 1993.
