Google Launches Expandable Ads
Mountain View-based Google said late Wednesday that the firm has added a new ad unit to its Google AdSense program, an "expandable ad." The ads, which display on sites in Google's content network, allow users to click on an ad to see a larger ad--for example, a movie trailer, video game clips, or more information. According to Google, current AdSense advertisers will not be able to opt-out of the advertising; any site accepting image ads will have to show the new ads.
