Apture Gains $4.1M
San Mateo-based Apture, which is developing tools to help publishers and bloggers add multimedia to their web pages, announced today that it has raised $4.1M in a Series A financing. The round was led by Clearstone Venture Partners, and also included angel investors Beau Vrolyk (formerly of Warburg Pincus), Paul Maritz (CEO of VMware), and Steve Taylor (former EVP of the Boston Globe). David Stern and Sumant Mandal of Clearstone Venture Partners join the firm's board as part of the funding.
