WRS Materials Buys Semiconductor Firm, Gains Funding

San Jose-based WRS Materials, a supplier of silicon wafers, said this morning that it has acquired Vancouver, Washington-based Isonics Semiconductor Group. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. WRS said that in conjunction with the acquisition, it has received $9.9M in a combination of equity and debt financing. The financing round was led by Wanxiang America Corp. WRS said the acquisition will help it become the largest secondary wafer supplier in the U.S. Isonics Semiconductor Group was a subsidiary of Isonics Corp. More information »
