Interwest Discloses First Investments Out Of Fund X

Menlo Park-based venture capital firm Interwest Partners said today that it has made the first four investments from its tenth fund, InterWest X. According to InterWest, it led a $15M Series B financing for Exalt Communications, and co-led a $7.1M series A investment in Eiger BioPharmaceuticals, $36M in a Series A for Lycera, and $20M in a Series B for Autonomic Technologies. Exalt Communications develops microwave radio systems for wireless backhaul; Eiger BioPharmaceuticals is developing antiviral therapeies; Lycera is developing treatments for autoimmune diseases; and Autonomic Technologies is developing medical devices for treating severe headaches. InterWest X is a $650M fund, targeted at life sciences and IT.
