Google Clears Hiccups

Mountain View-based Google explained the firm's widespread Thursday morning outages this afternoon, saying that an error in one of the firm's systems caused the company to direct some of its web traffic through Asia around 7:48 am Pacific time. The firm said that the error resulted in slow or interrupted services for about 14 percent of the firm's users, but were cleared after about an hour.
