SolaZyme Gains $57M

South San Francisco-based Solazyme, which is developing biotechnology to produce fuel using algae, said Monday that the firm has raised $57M in a Series C funding round. The financing came from Braemar Energy Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, The Roda Group, Harris & Harris, and VantagePoint Venture Partners, along with unnamed, strategic investors. The firm said the funding was led by Braemer and Lightspeed, and brings its total raised to $76M. More information »
