Lucid Imagination Gets Boost From In-Q-Tel

San Mateo-based Lucid Imagination, which is developing commercial open source software for full text search, said Monday that it has scored a strategic investment from In-Q-Tel, the investment arm of the Central Intelligence Agency. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. According to Lucid Imagination, the strategic investment will help the firm support the United States intelligence community, including the CIA. Lucid's products are based on Apache Lucene and Solr, a Java open source project which offers full text search, a web interface, and complex text analysis and other features.
