ngmoco Hires Former SEGA Chief
San Francisco-based mobile games developer and publisher ngmoco reported Monday that it has hired former SEGA executive Simon Jeffery as chief publishing officer. ngmoco described Jeffery as a 22-year veteran of the gaming industry who most recently was president and chief operating officer for SEGA of America. Before that, ngmoco noted, he was president and COO of LucasArts. ngmoco said Jeffery will helm its new Plus+ Publishing Group, which will assist developers wishing to use the company's publishing systems. Founded in 2008, ngmoco is a privately held company that develops games for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch mobile devices. Its backers include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Norwest Venture Partners and Maples Investments.
